Lawrence Indiana issues boil water advisory after water main break

Lawrence is under a boil water advisory after a water main break at the Fort Harrison Water Treatment Plant early Saturday morning.

Residents should bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least five minutes before drinking, brushing teeth or cooking with municipal water.

The water main break has been repaired, but the advisory will remain in effect until further notice, pending laboratory testing.

Lawrence has been in "constant communication" with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, a city spokesperson said.
